Between the Backwoods is a Kentucky fried folk punk band from Morehead, Kentucky. The band consists of Jake Lee, resident loudmouth, banjo picker, 6-stringer wielder and Morgan Curtis, mandolin ripper, banjolele Barbarian, and keeper of the cajon. The two come from a background of punk, metal, and emo nostalgia from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s paired with old time folk, bluegrass, and country played throughout the holler. They find influence in this scene nostalgia and the oppression their culture experiences hailing from Appalachia.
